College costs are skyrocketing. Today more and more families across America are being weighed down financially trying to provide a quality education for their children, and the sad truth is…its getting worse. The cost of college today is already ridiculuos, with universities making mass millions by doubling tuition rates, cost of living, books, etc. President Obama addressed the issue at the University of Maryland this friday. According to the NYT’s Caucus, “President Obama challenged college and university officials on Friday “to put affordability front and center as they chart a path forward.”

mine this one more time – “Obama Chides Colleges”…? Being a college student myself, I know the hardships and strain these tuition costs place on American families. In light of his grand economic scheme to help the average American, Barack is chiding colleges on this issue? This is not even close to being good enough. He cannot simply go to college to college “chiding” colleges and attempting them to all sway their current ways of increasing costs. Something much more substantial needs to be done. Legislative action needs to be taken. This may be dealing with schools, but I’m afraid “chiding” simply won’t cut it.
